So as my last post indicated, this past weekend was a Mother-Daughter
Extravaganza. Both my mother and Brittany's mother, aka Aunt Kathy,
came to visit us in the Big Apple for an extended weekend.
This is the first post in the series:
Thursday
The mother's had arrived early Thursday morning. While the
daughters slaved away at work, the mother's rested, bought
tickets for a broadway show, and chatted up with my roommate
Amber until the end of the work day. The adventures then began
we headed off to Time Square to get a quick bite to eat and to see
Mary Poppins (just as good the second time I might add).
On the way to the theater, we caught a glimpse of a commercial
or something being filmed. It's always kind of cool seeing
stuff like this randomly.

After the show, of course we had to make a stop at Junior's
to have some cheesecake. The service was kind of terrible
as we had waited patiently for the hostess to call our name
and 30-40 minutes later, we found out that she had already
passed our name (apparently she called our name several times).
Anyway, this is us while waiting for dessert.
This is my mother.
Friday
Friday started off with a visit to my building's rooftop.
Gotta love that view...
First we went to St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Side note: I keep getting that 60's song stuck in my head.
Brittany inside the church.
We then made our way to American Girl Place,
Rockefeller Center (pictured below), and Grand Central
Station where we bought some black & white cookies.
that we got seated right away? Neither could we.
The Mothers.
to get some rice pudding for later. Then we made a pit stop
at home before....
...heading off to the Staten Island Ferry!
The mothers on our walk there.
(over the shoulder shot)
zombie paint...that's a nod to you Jeff and Stephen).
This has become a favorite place of mine to see
when I go over to the "forgotten" borough.
After riding the ferry, we found the first of
many MLB themed Lady Liberty statues that were scattered
all around the city for MLB All Star Game at Yankee Stadium.
Of course we had to take a picture of Amber with the Rockies
Statue, as she does hail from Colorado.
To be continued...
Things to look forward to:
Friday Night Karaoke
Delicious food
More Liberty statues
Brooklyn Bridge

How much fun is that? I think your mom is quite cute on camera. I think she has character and likes to be silly! Glad you guys can all get together and make wonderful memories!
Too bad I missed this year, but I guess I would have been out of place or Shannon would have had to come. Hey you need to call me sometime! It's been awhile
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Maeley sure liked seeing silly pictures of her grandma. When she saw a picture of you she said, "that my friend". Hope you're doing well.
