Cinco de Mayo Adventure

So yesterday was a beautiful spring day in New York that really makes you think, "This is why I live in New York City! I never want to leave." I had been looking forward to this day for awhile since I had made plans a couple of weeks in advance. The day started out earlier with me waking up at 7am (very early for me on a Saturday) and leaving around 7:40am to get to the upper westside. Why did I have to be up there so early? To go get in line to see Spiderman 3 at IMAX! It was pretty amazing, and better yet, I saw it with some of my favorite people. My cousins Kariah, Jerimiah, and Kristopher (along with Kristopher's "friend" Brittany) were there as well as Dave, Emily, Brigham, Michelle, Colin, and Mindy.

So after the movie, my cousins took off and Colin split to run some errands, but he would meet up with us later in the day. The rest of us, with Gabe joining us, we went to this restraurant called the Upper Westside Restaurant. It really wasn't all that great of food, but it was fun to hang out with so many friends. After lunch, some of us decided to walk around and enjoy the day. We wandered all around the upper westside, until we needed to trek over the the eastside for our day's next major event...the Yankees game.
Finally we made it to the game, it being my first Yankees game, and it did not disappoint. When we got there the workers handed us a free Yankees hat, which was actually really nice for being free. The weather continued to be beautiful all day and I couldn't think of a better day to go to the ballgame. Here are some of the people that were at the game.

Me, Michelle, and Brigham (with Megan and Daniel behind us)

Leisel and Don

Becky and Colin

Emily watching the game

Amber and Dave (he organized this whole activity, and is also a Mariners fan)

Ellie and Leisel (again)

After the game, some parted ways while another large group of us headed to a little place on 118th and 1st avenue that makes really good tacos. I don't know how to say the name is spanish, but I know it translates to House of Tacos. It was my second visit there and once again it was very good. It brought a little Cinco de Mayo flavor to the day's events.

All in all it was a great day. I did and say a lot of new things. Spiderman was amazing, the Yankees won the game, and my tummy got to eat some scruptious food (which included some Key Lime pie at the game brought by Emily). And what a better way to finish off the day with a little karaoke with my friend Don, who I might add is a better singer than what he gives himself credit for. I knew he had a little "Donny Osmond" in him.

Oh, my only regret is I missed the Kentucky Derby :(
