Seeing as I have some time to kill (slow day at work), I was thinking about something that I could post since I've been meaning to post some new stuff. Then the thought of nicknames came up (don't ask me why, I think about the most random things sometimes).Anyway, it is just funny to me how many different names I go by. It seems like everyone has a particular name they like to call me. The other interesting thing is that only certain people can get away with calling me certain names. For instance, I have quite a few friends and extended family members (grandparents, aunts, etc) that refer to me as Kimmy at it is quite normal and doesn't faze me; however, when my parents or siblings call me Kimmy it always comes off weird. Generally to them I am Kim (or other random names given to me by my 0lder brother). Also when I was a T.A. at BYU students would call me Kimmy and it just rubbed me wrong.
The other thing that has always been interested to me is the plethora of nicknames that I have accumulated over the years. Here is a sample of some of my nicknames, ranging from the obvious, to the more interesting (not that many of these are used everyday):
- Kim
- Kimberly Ann
- Kimmy (or Kimmi or Kimmie)
- Kimdawg (or Kimdog)
- Kimmy Kat
- Kimmz
- Kimmers
- Kimchi
- Kim-chi-mei
- Kimichanga (like Chimichanga)
- Little Kimmy
- Dekembe (like the basketball player)
- Kim'bar'ly
- Kim Bim Bim (which turned to Bimmers)
- Stripes McGaven (or Stripes)
- Goober
Well, that is all of them that I can think of. Rather intriguing (at least to me). Does anyone else have this many nicknames? What are some people's nicknames? Just curious.

What ever happpened to Stripes McGaven? Geez, work so hard on a nickname and you don't even acknowledge that name I have so lovingly bestowed upon you. Shame on you Stripes!
I knew I was missing some! I can't believe that I forgot Stripes! I also forgot Goober, though that has become more of your nickname only while I became Stripes. I've made the correction and both nicknames have been added to the list.
I'm ashamed of myself...
