Wet and Wild Weekend?

As promised, the following is an account of last weekend's
adventure. My friend Jana came into town to hang
out with me here in the city.

Friday night we went to dinner at South Street Seaport and
just hung out around the apartment. We needed to save
our rest for Saturday's activities.

Saturday started with brunch, as any good
Saturday does. We went to Eatery, which is the
sister restaurant to Whym, which I think you
know by now from previous posts that it is one of my
favorite places to go for brunch. Well, Eatery
is just as good, but with a slightly different selection.

Sadly, I didn't take any pictures while we were there.

Then, it was off to the American Museum of Natural
History. It was my first time going, so it was quite the treat.

Jana, as always, hanging out with her lion friends.
Carrrnne Asada!
(oh, as a side note, I saw some nun friends at the museum)
"Puffins the name, General Puffin!"
Not Brittany, the puffin.
Brittany with Shingles the Horse.
At the museum we saw some scary sights,
like the following:
It's Scarecrow from Batman Begins!
Brittany begs for her life, which
thankfully was spared.
The scariest thing of all? This horse.
Look at it, it's gone ka-razzy!
(my favorite part is his tongue sticking out)
Jana with some more of her homeboys! Yo.
Me with the tigers (kind of hard to see I know).
This is proof that I was there.
Go Cougars!
Piggies, of the hairier variety.
Meese! I mean mooses. I mean moose?
Then there was the age of the dinosaurs, the
terrible lizard. "What happened to them, Phillip?
They died."
Carrrrnnne-osaur, Carrrrnne-osaur.
That was for Jana (inside joke).
Steggie! I always liked him.
Jana and Brittany checking things out.
More moose, though this one could use
some meat on those ribs.
Watch out for those horns!
Of course we had to check out the gift shop.

After we got tired walking around at the museum
we were going to try and catch a movie or something, but it
was pouring rain outside due to the lovely Hurricane Hanna
coming through. By the time we got to the subway we were
soaked head to toe (yes, my shoes and socks were even drenched)
and decided to just head back to the apartment.

These were our wet clothes hanging in the bathroom.
My shoes weren't completely dry until 2-3 days later.
The rest of Saturday we just sat around, ordered
in food, and watched a couple of movies.
Oh! And I got a call from my best friend asking me if
I would be in AZ on Dec 27th to be her Maid of Honor.
Yes, my friend Jessica is getting married. Crazy!
So that was some exciting news.

On Sunday after church, Jana and I stopped by
Bryant Park to check out the tents for Fashion Week.
On our way there we got hit on by a rapper who was
trying to sell us his CD. He didn't believe us that we
don't buy things on Sunday and thought that was our
lame excuse to not purchase his music. Kind of funny.

In front of the main tent at Fashion Week.
We also made a quick stop at the library and Grand
Central Station. Then it was time to get Jana to the
bus stop. Besides getting wet, we had a fun weekend.
Come again soon Jana. We'll do it again, this time,
with less rain...hopefully.

Yes Kietra, I have nun friends...just like Maria Von Trapp. :)

A little misleading title for the post, but good times nonetheless. :)

Oh Don, but it was wet (from the rain) and wild (I would consider lions, crazy horses, and non-domestic animals in general as being wild). So I'm not sure how you could say that the title of this post was in any way misleading. :)
