Mad about Amber, Pumpkins, and Men

As some of you may have know, my friend and roommate Amber recently had surgery again and has been recovering in the hospital the last couple of weeks. The poor thing has been through so much, but she is amazing and such a trooper and is improving so much each day. I've been trying to think of something I could do for her these last couple of weeks to cheer her up a little. Should I get her flowers, Diet Coke, or something else? I just didn't know. Then the other night I had a brilliant idea.

Before following through with my idea I made sure it would be fine with her parents. When I asked them they actually mentioned that they had thought to ask me, but didn't want to bother me if I was too busy. Of course I said it wasn't a problem at all and I would be happy to do it.

So tonight I unveil my special gift to Amber, which she will receive tomorrow.

Ta dah!Hopefully she likes it and it will bring her a little joy
and put her into a little Halloween spirit while she
spends the holiday in the hospital.

Amber and I love watching Mad Men, plus she
introduced me to the show, so that is the reason
behind the carving design.Of course I took lots of pictures of the pumpkin,
but I especially love this one with the NYC
skyline behind it. So fitting!

P.S. This is just the first of 3 pumpkins this year. I just
bought my two pumpkins tonight for the other designs!
