Some Dancin' and Some Celebrating

Hello Blogging World. I know I've been
a bit of a slacker lately, but it is only
because I've been out and about in the city.
Here is a bit of what I've been up to the past week.

The day after the elections (which it took about
2 hours to place my vote, I might add), I finally
became one of the lucky winners at work for
Ranger's tickets for the following nights game,
after trying all last season to win tickets.
The CEO at Horizon has amazing season tickets
that are three rows from the glass behind the goal.

So that Thursday night, I headed off to the game with
none other than my cousin and best friend Brittany!
I told you the seats were amazing!
($230 for each ticket, just to let you know)
Brittany
Me
It was amazing to be so close to the action!
It took me back to Provo IceCat days when
Brittany and I would go to the games and
sit on the front row next to the penalty box.
This was the first of a couple of fights
(or dances) during the game. Back in BYU hockey
class, when we learned how to fight, they always started
off by saying, "let's dance" and then throwing down
the gloves. Hence, the dancin' reference.
Brittany and I also picked out some boyfriends
for the night. Brittany of course picked the goalie.
Swedish, very hot, amazing goalie...
good choice Brittany.
This was my boyfriend. I believe he is from
Ukraine and he is only a week older than me.
Also very attractive.
**Let me add that both of "boyfriends" were
stars of the game.**

During the middle of the game, Brittany
and I got a little silly taking pictures.
We were just enjoying ourselves.
I especially love this one of Brittany!
Here is the second and third fights (dances) that broke out.
The one on the left included TB's goalie.
After the fights, both teams ended up with about
18 minutes worth of penalites each, with only 2
minutes left in the game. Gotta love hockey!
The puck is hiding somewhere in the photo, but
it is about to go into the net. That made number 5
for the Rangers, sealing the game.
Brittany and I sure had a great time.
I'll have to try and win tickets again
very soon...well, after all the vacations. ;)

The following week...

...came the celebratin'!
As some may have noticed, or known, it was my
birthday last week. First off, I would like to thank
everyone for all the birthday wishes. It made my day!
Anyway...to kick off the day of getting older, Tuesday night
Anna, Brittany and I went to dinner at Southern
Hospitality
. Let me just say that it is the best BBQ I've
had in the city. I also LOVED their mac and cheese.
Delicious!

The lovely Brittany enjoying our BBQ nachos.
Anna and myself also enjoying the nachos.
I also have a weird look on my face.
The Birthday Girl!

I failed to take pictures for the
rest of the birthday activities.

On Wednesday, the actual birthday, I took the
day off of work and just relaxed and did whatever.
In the morning I called to talk to my daddy, whom
I share a birthday with. In the afternoon I did a little
shopping, and then went to a Broadway show that evening.
Again the roommies and I went together and we saw
Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps. It was really funny
and I highly recommend seeing it, if you have the chance!

When I got home that night, my lovely VT group had left
some flowers for me with the doormen. Those girls are so
sweet. It was such a beautiful arrangement.
Overall, it was a great birthday.

It has definitely been a fun and exciting week!
I didn't even take pictures from Saturday night's
ward luau, which was totally amazing. Well, be on
the lookout for the next week's Thanksgiving adventures,
before I jet off for the next couple of weeks...
